An Afternoon of Sights and Sounds
Ike helped organize the event along with gallery owners Thijs van Himbergen and Laurens Hebly, by ‘recruiting’ the poets that were featured on this lovely occasion. They were: Jonas van de Poel, Nadia de Vries, Hannah Aukes, Laurine Verweyen, Mare Hilstra, Helen Weeres, Anne Braakman, and cello poet Kasper Stern. Jonas and Nadia performed in English, and Hannah read a Spanish poem, while the others presented mostly Dutch work.
Of course, Ike couldn’t resist reading some of his own work and that of Mr. Karfield’s to finish off the afternoon-turned-evening of sights and sounds. Thijs, the event’s MC even did a poem, about neglecting to feed cats!
We’d like to thank all performers and the audience for their presence, and their contributions of laughter, loot, and verbal linguini. Your support and good spirits have inspired us and made it possible to host another such event in the near future.
It was wonderful; you should have been there. In fact, why don’t you come to the next one? It will be announced on our page soon.
