Willow Ships

Water purification with a willow ship
Plants do the work for you! Willow trees, edible water plants and the bacteria that live in and around their root systems are a real power team as it comes to purifying polluted water. Willow tree branches will sprout in water and form roots that take their nutrients from the water, as do the water plants, and thereby removing phosphates and nitrogen from the wastewater.
For the system to work you will have to harvest the plants (and eat them) and put the rest material on a compost heap.
It ‘s an all natural purification technique that is a sustainable, esthetic, edible and cheap way to clean your water.
